Field notes Solitary, dioecious palm up to 20 m tall and 20-30 cm diam. Trunk covered with a thin wax layer. Leaves grey-green, regularly pinnate. Inflorescences and infructescences interfoliar. Fruits green-yellow in development, red when ripe. The fruits are said to be birds dispersed
