Field notes Unbranched or 2-branched tree, 8 m tall, 9 cm dbh. Flowers and fruits cauline, sessile to subsessile. Calyx green; corolla pinkish-white in bud, pearl-white, the petals erect and adaxially concave until post anthesis, cleistogamus?; stamens 2/3 basally fused. Fruits prominently ribbed when fresh, green and brown variegated, 1-seeded. Leaf blades to ca 150 x 40 cm, with sunken dots beneath, ca 46 pairs of lateral nerves. Litter trapper species. Infrequent. Sample for DNA studies
