Field notes Solitary midstorey palm, stem ca. 3.5 m x 5 cm, internodes ca. 3-8 cm, green turning greyish brown, nodal scars slightly protruding. Crownshaft 45 x 12 cm, sheaths bright burgundy, pale green-yellow apically with dry auricle. 12 leaves in crown, leaf ca. 150 cm, rachis 115 cm, no petiole. Leaflets irregular, single- or multifold, 9-11 per side. Inflorescence interfoliar, ca 110 cm, peduncle ca 45 cm, branched to 2 orders, 14 first-order branches, widely spaced, sticking out at 90 degrees, branches grassy green with chestnut fluff. Lowermost primary branch ca 40 cm. Prophyll ca 30 cm, brown, 3-4 cm wide. In degraded lowland humid forest on ridgetop. DNA sample at AAU. Duplicates at TAN, K
