Field notes Medium sized solitary palm, stem 6 m tall, 6 cm in diameter, internodes 8-10 cm, dull grey-green. Leaf scars slightly stepped. Crownshaft 60 cm x 15 cm, bulging, sheath 35 cm, deeply split, burgundy red, green at the margins, dry auricles, dotted with chestnut indumentum. Leaves 14 in crown, 150 cm long, no petiole, irregularly pinnate with single- and multifold leaflets, 14-15 per side. Inflorescence interfoliar, branched to 2 orders, peduncle 40 x 3 cm, with thick brown woolly indumentum. Prophyll 50 x 6 cm, bract same size, fully included in prophyll. All measurements approximate.
