| Field notes | Clustering understorey palm, stem 2 m high, 2.5 cm in diameter, internodes 3-15 cm, green with dense reddish indumentum, trunk slightly stepped. 6-7 leaves in crown, entire or split into 2 irregular pinnae. Crownshaft 30 cm, concealed by persistent decaying leaf sheaths. Litter trapping. Outermost sheath quite deeply split. Sheath pale green with dense red indumentum that continues down rachis.
