| Field notes | Robust solitary midstorey palm. Stem 6 m tall, 15 cm in diameter. Internodes 10-15 cm, brown. 8 leaves in crown, erect, narrowly shuttlecock-like. Sheath open, base almost completely encircling the stem, 50 cm long, 25 cm wide. Petiole 80 cm long, 8 cm wide. Rachis 3.50 m long. 65 pinnae per side, pinnae 7 cm wide near base, regular, holding flat. Inflorescence interfoliar, male (measurements approximate).
