| Field notes | Solitary, subcanopy tree palm to c. 8m. Stem: 7.5 cm diameter, internode 8 cm long. Crownshaft 130 cm. 11 leaves in crown. Sheath: 80 cm long, with white wax and black/marroon speckling, sheath mouth fibrous. Leaf: 200 cm long including 90 cm petiole, somewhat arcuate, leaflets. Leaflets: ascending with drooping tips, 40 each side of rachis, arranged subregularly with 1 or 2 notable gaps. Inflorescences: 4 present, brush-like, 40 cm long, erect with branches drooping towards tip. Fruit: spherical, 7 mm diameter, red when ripe |
