| Field notes | Primary rainforest on limestone ridge. Soils thin or absent. Much exposed limetone and many sink holes. Numerous individuals of this species growing on very thin humic layer over limestone. Solitary tree palm to 7m. Stem diam. 7cm, internodes 8cm. Crownshaft 1 m x 12cm. Sheath 60cm long. Leaves 150cm long including 10cm petiole, ca. 6 leaflets each side of rachis, wide multi-fold leaflets interspersed with single-fold leaflets. Petiole and rachis with dark brown indumentum. Inflorescences branched to 1 order, with ca. 10 branches. Fruit red when ripe. |
