Field notes Solitary tree palm to c.8m. Stem diameter 7cm. Internode 4cm. Crown with 7 leaves. Crownshaft poorly-defined, 42cm long, with copious fibres from disintegrating leaf sheaths. Leaf 169cm long including 29cm petiole. Leaflets 44 each side, arranged regularly. Inflorescence 103cm long including 50cm peduncle, branched to 3 orders, 26 primary branches, largest primary branch 42cm long, rusty red indument on all inflroescence axes, prophyll 35cm long, peduncular bract 65cm long, circumscissile and caducous, torn away near base as inflorescence elongates. Pistillate flowers yellow-white. Young fruit ovoid.
