Field notes Short-stemmed palm to c.1 m. Stem diameter 3cm, numerous fibrous leaf sheaths persisting and supporting many epiphytes. Crown with 7 leaves. Leaf 130cm long including c.50cm petiole. Leaflets 11 each side of rachis, both single and multiple fold leaflets present. Inflorescences interfoliar, of varying lengths on a single plant, elongating with age, up to 140cm long, branched to 2 orders, rarely 3, peduncular bract hooded, persistent until decaying, inserted a short distance below the first primary branch. Staminate flowers yellowish. Endosperm ruminate,
