| Field notes | Solitary tree palm to 9m. Stem 6cm diam. Internodes 10cm. Crown with 8 leaves. Crownshaft poorly defined, 47cm long x 8cm wide. Sheath 33cm long. Leaf 170cm long including 27cm petiole. Leaflets 40 each side, arranged regularly. Inflorescence 73cm long including 38cm peduncle, branched to 2 orders, largest primary branch 30cm long. Flower buds blackish purple on green rachilla. Fruit 1cm diam, spherical, red when ripe, stigmatic remains eccentric. Endosperm ruminate. |
