Field notes Solitary, moderately robust tree palm to c.6m. Stem diameter 6.5cm. Internode 3-4cm. Crown with 9 leaves, leaflets held horizontally. Crownshaft absent. Sheath 29cm. Leaf 180 cm long including 37cm petiole. Leaflets 41 each side of rachis, arranged regularly. Inflorescence at staminate anthesis 80cm long including 40cm peduncle, branched to 3 orders, 18 primary branches, branches and fiowers bright pink at this stage. Inflorescence in fruit 100cm long including 50cm peduncle, elongate in comparison to infiorescence at anthesis, longest primary branch 46cm. Most fruit aborted, ripe fruit 1.5cm long, red, endosperm ruminate.
