| Field notes | Solitary, robust tree palm to c.20m. Stem 28cm diam.. Internodes 9-10cm. Crown with 10 leaves, leaves somewhat ascending with drooping leaflets. Leaf 5m including 110cm petiole. Sheath 45cm long, 30cm wide. Leaflets 61 each side of rachis, arranged regurlarly. Inflorescence 180cm long including 65 cm peduncle, branched to 3 orders, 38 primary branches, largest 60cm long, thick rust-colored indumentum on inflorescence branches. Fruit bright red. Locally frequent. |
