| Field notes | Clustering, moderately robust tree palm with 2 adult stems and numerous suckers. Stem diam. 4.5cm. Internode 9cm. Crownshaft 150cm long x 4cm wide. Sheath 58cm long with white indumentum and purple scales. Crown with 10 leaves. Leaf 125 cm long, petiole absent. Leaflets 26 each side of rachis, regular. Juvenile leaves entire bifid. Inflorescences infrafoliar, horsetail-shaped, 25cm long. Fruit red, endosperm shallowly ruminate. Locally abundant. |
