| Field notes | Clustering rheophytic tree palm to c.7m with c.20 stems in clump, numerous adventitious roots forming cone at stem base. Stem diam. 4cm. Internode up to c.12cm. Crown with 9 leaves. No crownshaft. Leaf140cm long including 30cm petiole. Leaflets regular, 137 each side of rachis. Inflorescences up to 6 per stem, interfoliar when flowering, often becoming infrafoliar when fruiting, 50cm long including 20cmpeduncle, branched to 3 orders, 14 primary branches, largest primary branch 38cm long, rusty indument on branches of young infloresence. Fruit ellipsoid, 20mm long, 12mm wide, red when ripe, seed deeplyruminate. |
