| Field notes | Swamp forest not far from river bank. Robust solitary tree palm to c.15m. Tem diameter 25cm. Leaves 12 in crown, 450cm long including 180cm petiole. Leaflets c.52 each side, arranged regularly. Inflorescences 80cm long, including 50cm peduncle, highly congested, erect then arching later when loaded with ripe fruit. Fruit orange brown, c.8cm diameter. Trunk cut into strips and used for tying roof. |
