Field notes Acaulescent or short stem. Leaves 12, erect, arching: sheath + petiole 263 cm. 10 cm wide at base, 4 cm in cross, channeled above, green, rounded below, younger petiole brown dotted abaxially; rachis 907 x 5.5 x 4.2 cm, channeled above with a prominent ridge, rounded below, colors as sheath + prtiole, not twisted, pinnae 136 per side, opposite, regular distributed appearing in one plane, basal pinnae 81 x 0.5 cm, miidle pinnae 131 x 5.5 cm, apical pinnae 25 x 0.5 cm. Inflorescence 1 (staminate) interfoliar; prophyll dropped; peduncular bract 123 x 2.5 cm, oval in cross section, cream, brown tomentose; rachis 49 x 1.5 cm, cream, with small white scales, above each rachillae a furrow; rachillae about 20, 13.5 cm long, flowers distributed all around rachillae 5 cm apart base, petals 3, stamens 6. N.V. Shébon. Uses: Leaves used for house thaching
