| Field notes | Tree to c. 8 m , unbranched and clear boled to c. 7 m. Petioles green, mottled with darker green patches, very stout with woody lenticels at the base; somewhat swollen at the base and connected above to a long stipule, Stipules c. 20 cm long, quite thick and leathery but drying and then easily broken during processing, grey-brown, long and tapered, remaining green adaxially, usually with termintes nesting at the base. Leaflets usually c. 12, up to 16, c. 29-41 x 10-16 (L x W); petioles c. 10 cm long. Inflorescences light-green covered with light brown scales, easily rubbed off. Flower buds in distinctive pink clusters, tinged white at the base of the bud. SPIRIT. |
