| Field notes | In dense formation on slope in scrubby partly cleared forest. Young state small spheric, red buds attached to host roots, then visibly scaly and vividly golden orange on subterranean parts, yellow below ground. In flower the scales are shed and the surface is cream with reticulate pattern. Flesh vinaceous discolouring. The flesh in basal 'bulb' is grey yellowish with red veines. |
