| Field notes | Solitary understory palm. Acaulescent; internodes < 1 cm, < stem diameter, rough. Base with few visible roots. Leaves 11; sheath 10-14 cm long, closed; petiole 3-6 cm long, section sharp margined; rachis 65-68 cm long; lamina entire, 89-94 cm long, 18-21 cm wide, flat, glabrous. Infructescence interfoliar; prophyll herbaceous; peduncular bract 17-29 cm long, 1 cm wide, inserted 1 cm from base, brown, herbaceous; peduncle 47-60 cm long, 0.4-0.6 cm wide; spike 13-16 cm long, 1 cm wide. Fruits green, 0.8 cm long, 0.7 cm wide. Silicagel sample taken. Transect: HB 771, subunit no. 1, outside transect |
