| Field notes | Cespitose understory palm. Stem 3 m high, 1.5 cm thick; internodes 6-10 cm long, brown, smooth. Base of stem with few visible roots. Leaves 10 per stem; sheath 7 cm long, open; petiole 35 cm long, section margined; rachis 32 cm long; lamina pinnate, 50 cm long, 70 cm wide, flat; pinnae 3 per side; basal pinna 26 cm long, middle pinna 30 cm long, apical pinna 30 cm long. Infructescence interfoliar, orange; peduncle 10 cm long, 0.8 cm wide; rachis 2.5 cm long; rachillae 5, 7-9 cm long. Fruits green, 1.5 cm long, 1.2 cm wide. Silicagel sample taken.
