| Field notes | Colonial understory palm. Stem 6 m high, 2.5-3.5 cm thick; internodes 4-10 cm long, brown/green, rough with lenticels. Crownshaft 35 cm long. Leaves 4-6 per stem, sheath 35 cm long, closed; petiole 30 cm long, section round; rachis 110 cm long; lamina pinnate, 110 cm long, 55 cm wide, flat, hairy; pinnae 8-13 per side, insertion regular; basal pinna 17 cm long, middle pinna 33 cm long, apical pinna 22 cm long. Inflorescence infrafoliar; old dry female; peduncle 3.5 cm long, 0.5 cm wide; rachis 2 cm long; rachillae 4, 7-15 cm long. Silicagel sample taken. Transect: HB 759, from transect |
