| Field notes | Solitary understory palm. Stem 0.3 m high, 3-4 cm thick, procumbent; internodes 1 cm long, < stem diameter, brown, rough. Base of stem with few visible roots. Leaves 10 per stem; sheath 8 cm long, open; petiole 65 cm long, section round; rachis 62 cm long; lamina entire, 68 cm long, 23 cm wide, flat, glabrous. Inflorescence infrafoliar; prophyll 6 cm long, 1 cm wide, herbaceous; peduncular bract 20 cm long, 0.8 cm wide, inserted 2 cm from base, brown, herbaceous; peduncle 45 cm long, 0.3 cm wide, orange; spike 11 cm long, 0.5 cm wide, orange.
