| Field notes | Solitary understory palm. Acaulescent. Base without visible roots. Leaves 8; sheath 12 cm long, closed; petiole 30 cm long, section round; rachis 28 cm long; lamina pinnate; 37 cm long, 24 cm wide, flat, glabrous; pinnae 5 per side, insertion regular; basal pinna 22 cm long, middle pinna 23 cm long, apical pinna 18 cm long. Inflorescence interfoliar; prophyll 7 cm long, 1.1 cm wide, brown, herbaceous; peduncular bract 18 cm long, 0.8 cm wide, inserted 2 cm from base, brown, herbaceous; peduncle 43 cm long, 0.3 cm wide; spike 10 cm long, 0.7 cm wide.
