| Field notes | Cespitose understory palm. Stem 0.1 m high, 0.8 cm thick; internodes 4 cm long, brown, smooth. Leaves 4 per stem; sheath 13 cm long, closed; petiole 65 cm long, section round; rachis 16 cm long; lamina entire, 57 cm long, 27 cm wide, flat, glabrous. Inflorescence interfoliar; prophyll 4 cm long, 1 cm wide, herbaceous; peduncular bract inserted 7 cm from base; peduncle 21 cm long, 0.3 cm wide; spike 5 cm long, 0.3 cm wide. Fruits orange, 1.3 cm long, 1 cm wide. Silicagel sample taken. Transect: HB 752, subunit no. 64, inside transect |
