| Field notes | Cespitose understory palm. Stem 4.5 m high, 2 cm thick; internodes 2-15 cm long, grey-green, smooth. Base of stem with few visible roots. Leaves 6 per stem; sheath 10 cm long, closed; petiole 43 cm long, section margined; rachis 30 cm long; lamina pinnate, 60 cm long, 60 cm wide, flat, glabrous; pinnae 9-10 per side, irregularly inserted; basal pinna 46 cm long, middle pinna 46 cm long, apical pinna 43 cm long. Inflorescence interfoliar; prophyll 11 cm long, 4 cm wide, brown, woody; peduncular bract 11 cm long, inserted 1 cm from base, brown, herbaceous; peduncle 9 cm long, 0.8 cm wide; rachis 9 cm long, 0.5 cm wide; rachillae 11, 10-17 cm long.
