| Field notes | Solitary understory palm. Acaulescent. Base with few visible roots. Leaves 5; sheath 30 cm long, open; petiole 190 cm long, section margined; rachis 450 cm long; lamina pinnate; 500 cm long, 110 cm wide, bushy, glabrous; pinnae 112 per side, irregularly inserted in groups of 1-6; basal pinna 45 cm long, middle pinna 65 cm long, apical pinna 38 cm long. Inflorescence interfoliar; prophyll 20+ cm long, 5.5 cm wide; peduncular bract 133 cm long, brown, woody; peduncle 88+ cm long, 0.9 cm wide; rachis 18 cm long, 0.4 cm wide; rachillae 25, 10-20 cm long.
