| Field notes | Solitary understory palm. Stem 0.9 m high, 0.5 cm thick; internodes 3 cm long, black, smooth, covered by leaf bases. Base of stem with few visible roots. Leaves 4 per stem; sheath 5 cm long, closed; petiole 7 cm long, section round; rachis 15 cm long; lamina entire, flat, glabrous. Infructescence infrafoliar, spicate; peduncular bract 7 cm long, brown, herbaceous; peduncle 2 cm long, 0.3 cm wide. Fruits orange, 0.7 cm long, 0.7 cm wide. Silicagel sample taken.
