| Field notes | Solitary understory palm. Acaulescent. Leaves 6; sheath 20 cm long, open; petiole 10 cm long, section round; rachis 54 cm long; lamina pinnate; 80 cm long, 50 cm wide, flat, glabrous; pinnae 3 per side, insertion irregular; basal pinna 46 cm long, middle pinna 47 cm long, apical pinna 43 cm long. Infructescence interfoliar, orange; prophyll 6 cm long, 1 cm wide, brown, papery; peduncle 69 cm long, 0.5 cm wide; spike 18 cm long, 0.8 cm wide. Fruits black, 1 cm long, 1.1 cm wide. Seedlings also collected. Silicagel sample taken. Transect: HB 742, subunit no. 1, outside transect |
