| Field notes | Solitary understory palm. Stem 40 cm high, 1 cm thick; internodes 4 cm long, green, smooth. Base of stem with few visible roots. Leaves 6; sheath 13 cm long, closed; petiole 25 cm long, section round; rachis 30 cm long; lamina entire, 55 cm long, 27 cm wide, flat, glabrous. Infructescence interfoliar; peduncular bracts 12 cm long, brown, papery; peduncle 27 cm long, 0.3 cm wide; spike 23 cm long, 0.4 cm wide, orange. Fruits green, 1 cm long, 0.8 cm wide.
