| Field notes | Epiphytic in large Ficus; stems ca. 30 cm long or less; 2.0-4.5 cm diameter, densely rooted; internodes short; cataphylls short, hook-shaped; petioles D-shaped to quadrangular; flattened adaxially with a stout medial rib, 3-8 ribbed abaxially, 1.5-4.0 cm diameter, the larger blades to ca. 1.6 m long; midrib flat at base with a stout medial rib, soon becoming acutely triangular; tertiary veins weakly raised, slightly darker than the surface; infructescence old, fruits oblong, purplish-violet; mesocarp juicy; seeds whitish.
