| Field notes | On rocks and on trees; internodes short, to 3.0 cm diam.; cataphylls bluntly 2-ribbed, pale green, persisting as red-brown fibers with fragments of epidermis; petioles somewhat spongy, obtusely D-shaped, broadly sulcate to narrowly and obtusely sulcate adaxially, medium green, matte to weakly flossy, finely striate, with purple spots around the circumference on sides abaxial surface; blades subcoriaceus, dark green, semiglossy above, moderately paler and glossy below, medium green or rarely heavily tinged violet-purple (if so the veins medium green) below; midrib narrowly and obstusely sunken medially, sometime discolored along its margins above, narrowly rounded and paler below; primary lateral veins obtusely sunken and concolorous below; minor veins weakly etched and concolorous above, scarcely raised, moderately distinct and rather widely spaced bellow; inflorescences 1-2 per axil; peduncle to 7 cm long, 1.2 cm x 9 diam. midway, white; spathe 13.3 cm long, 2.8 x 2.3 cm diam., medium green, faintly pale-speckled-lineate throughout, pale green and glossy throughout inside; spadix 11-12.8 cm long; male part 7.9-8.7 cm long, 1.7 cm diam. on broadest part, 1.4-1.5 cm diam. at constriction, 1.6 cm diam. on sterile portions (this 1.1 cm long); female part 2.7 cm long in back, 3.2 cm long in front. |
