| Field notes | Clump open cespitose, 6m inn diam. Rhizomes determinate. Culms 10 m tall and 10cm in diam. erect with nodding tips. Internodes glabrous, antrorsely pubescent on young culms, sulcate. Node without nodal ridge, white lanate band above and below, all gemmiferous One primary branch with one spine on each side which sometimes develops into a branch, forming a zig-zag pattern. Culm leaf: sheath fugaceous, dark brown hairs covering surface, but not thickly, stiff; blade persistent. Foliage dark green. Sterile. Used locally in construction. |
