| Field notes | Shrub 2m. Old bark rough, buff. Young bark dark brown, smooth with some lenticels. Slash yellow, 5 mm, smelling strongly of beans. Wood very hard. Young fruits green. The whole population apparently flowered about one month earlier. Inflorescences still have unopened flower buds - unclear if this is a second production of flowers due to heavy "el nino" rains, or abortion of flowers due to adequate levels of fertilisation. |
