Field notes Source and origin: Seed wild collected by Stanley Keim (#173) a few miles west of San Andres, Santiago Tuxtla, Vera Cruz, Mexico, in Aug-Sep, 1957. Caespitose with ca. 20 stems to 3 m, 15 mm diam. Petioles 3 dm ascend-spreading. Blade 1 m long, 0.5 m wide; 20 seg, each side, aggregated and 4-ranked, spreading or becoming slightly recurved. Infl. 1 at most per stem, arching-recurved. Fr. orange-red.
