| Field notes | Single stem solitary tree palm ca 10-15 m tall. Stem 40 cm diam. Leaves ca 30 pinnae, ascending; sheath margins fibrous-netted, fibers black; petiole ca 220 cm long, stout; rachis ca 5 m long; pinnae ca 150x2, 130 x 7 cm, clustered arising from rachis in several planes, grayish below. Rachillae 180-215 cm long, mature fruits depressed - globbose with 3 ridge 5.5-6.8 x 4-4.8 cm, yellowish green turned red or orange when ripe, 3 seeded with apical stigmatic remains.
