| Field notes | Herbaceous rhizomatous Zingiberaceae to 1.5 m high. Leaves green above, much paler below, hispid with appresed white hairs both sides, more so beneath. Petals and staminoides white, largest staminoide of flower with yellowish shiny patch centrally and basally. Filament white, anther buff. Flowers exuding strongly perfumed odour, pervading plantation for some distance. |
