| Field notes | Climbing hemiepiphyte; internodes 6-10 cm long, grayish green, sap drying black; cataphylls 2-ribbed, persisting as dense reticulum of dark brown fibers; juvenile petioles strongly sheathed (sheath overlapping leaf base), at maturity D-shaped without sheath; lamina wide ovate, semicoriaceous, dark green above, light green below, base truncate, apex acuminate; midrib flat on upper, raised on lower surface; prim. & sec. lateral veins sunken above, raised below; inflorescence solitary; peduncle 3 cm long, spathe green. |
