Field notes Terrestrial in dense understory; internodes short; cataphylls persisting as brown fibers; petiole 42 cm long, 3 mm diam., shallowly sulcate adaxially; geniculum 1.5 cm long, slightly thickened; blade chartaceous; 24 cm long, 16 cm wide, widest at petiole insertion, triangular with truncate basal lobes, semiglossy, light green above, matt, paler below; midrib & basal veins convex at base on both surfaces; prim. & sec. lateral veins and collective vein sunken above, raised below; collective vein 2 mm from margin.
