Field notes Scandent terrestrial, stems creeping along ground (often leafless), erect, or climbing; internodes 2-9 cm long; cataphylls persisting as brown fibres at every node; petiole long, thin, terete, obtusely sulcate with ± acute margins; Blade coriaceous, dark green, semiglossy on upper surface, matt on lower surface, ovate, more than twice as long as wide, sinus between basal lobes triangular ( juvenile leaves) to obovate to hippocrepiform; midrib and basal veins raised above and below; prim. and sec. lateral veins and collective vein sunken above, raised below; peduncle terete, as long as petiole; prim. lateral veins meeting midrib at 60-90° angle; spathe green, ovate, erect; stipe 1 cm; spadix pink.
