Field notes scandent hemiepiphyte; internodes short (6-12 cm long at flagelliform shoots); cataphylls 2-ribbed; sap red-brown; petioles strongly sheathed to 3/4 of their length, sheath caducous; petioles D-shaped, flat adaxially with acute & erect margins; midrib obtusely sulcate at base, acutely sulcate toward apex; midrib & primary lateral veins lighter than lamina; primary & secondary lateral veins sunken on upper surface; midrib & primary lateral veins prominent on lower surface; juvenile leaves white-reddish & glossy on lower surface; adult leaves coriaceous
