| Field notes | Solitary understory palm. Stem 137 cm long, 3.1 cm thick, brown, covered by leaf bases; internodes 6 cm long; base of stem with few visible roots. Leaves 8; leaf sheath 13.5 cm long, open, with 1-2.5 cm long black spines; petiole 46.5 cm long, section round, with 1-3.5 cm long black spines; rachis 79 cm long; lamina pinnate, 79 cm long, 44 cm wide, glabrous; pinnae 15 per side, regularly inserted, basal pinna 28 cm long, middle pinnae 26 cm long, apical pinna 23 cm long. Sterile. DNA sample not taken. Transect 1042, subunit no. 75, inside transect. |
