| Field notes | Solitary understory palm. Stem 45 cm high, 0.6 cm thick, covered by leaf bases; internodes 4 cm long, green; base of stem with few visible roots: Leaves 6; leaf sheath 8 cm long, open, with 0.6 cm long black spines; petiole 4.5 cm long, section round; rachis 23 cm long; lamina entire, hairy. Infructescence interfoliar; prophyll 2 cm long, 0.7 cm wide, herbaceous; peduncular bract brown, herbaceous; peduncle 4 cm long, 0.3 cm wide; rachis 4.5 cm long, 0.3 cm wide; rachillae 3, 2.5-4 cm long. Fruits green, 0.5 cm long, 0.6 cm wide. DNA sample not taken. Transect 1031, subunit no. 3, inside transect. |
