| Field notes | Solitary understory palm. Stem 1.22 m high, 1.8 cm thick, rough; internodes 2.4 cm long, brown, base of stem with few visible roots. Leaves 22; leaf sheath 22 cm long, open; petiole 15 cm long, section round; rachis 21 cm long; lamina pinnate, 21 cm long, 30 cm wide, glabrous; pinnae 3 per side, regularly inserted, basal pinna 10 cm long, middle pinna 16 cm long, apical pinna 17 cm long. Inflorescence interfoliar; prophyll 0.5 cm long, 1.1 cm wide, papery; peduncular bract 7 cm long, inserted 2 cm from base, brown, herbaceous; peduncle 5 cm long, 0.6 cm in diameter; rachis 0.3 cm long, 0.6 cm wide; rachillae 3, 6-25 cm long. Flowers white, sessile. Transect 1031, subunit no. 64, inside transect. |
