| Field notes | Cespitose understory palm. Stem 1.5 m heigh, 0.5 cm thick; internodes 4 cm long, green, covered by leaf bases; base of stem with few visible roots. Leaves 6 per stem; leaf sheath 10 cm long, open; petiole 10 cm long, section round; rachis 7.3 cm long; lamina entire, 7.3 cm long, 10 cm wide, glabrous. Inflorescence infrafoliar; prophyll 0.2 cm long, 0.1 cm wide, herbaceous; peduncular bract 3.1 cm long, inserted 1 cm from base, brown, papery; peduncle 1.3 cm long, 0.3 cm wide; rachilla 1, 2-2.5 cm long, 0.3 cm wide. Flowers cream. DNA sample not taken. Transect 1031, subunit no. 35, inside transect. |
