| Field notes | Cespitose, understory palm. Stem aerial, 2 m high, 1.5 cm thick; internodes 8 cm long, >stem diameter, smooth. Leaves 9-12 per stem; sheaths 16 cm long, open; petiole 15 cm long, margined in cross section; rachis 32 cm long; lamina entire, flat, with 1 pinna per side. Inflorescence interfoliar. Fruits green.
