| Field notes | Cespitose, midstory palm. Stem aerial, 3 m high, 3.5 cm thick; internodes 9.5 cm long, >stem diameter, brown, smooth, with spines in rings on the upper part. Leaves 8 per stem; sheaths 52 cm long, open, with white, flat spines to 3 cm long; petiole 69 cm long, round in cross section, with white flat spines to 2.5 cm long; rachis 142 cm long, with white spines to 1.5 cm long; lamina pinnate, bushy; pinnae 25 per side in groups of 2-5, basal pinna 25 cm, middle pinna 40 cm, apical pinna 31 cm long. Inflorescence interfoliar. Transect HB1019, subunit no. 089; UTM 19N-436632-393050. |
