| Field notes | Cespitose, understory palm. Stem 0.94 m high, 0.8 cm thick; internodes 6 cm long, > stem diameter, brown, smooth. Leaves 6 per stem; sheaths 13 cm long, open, with black, 0.5-1 cm long spines; petiole 17.5 cm long, margined in cross-section, with black, 1 cm long spines; lamina flat with one segment per side. Inflorescence infrafoliar. Specimen include adult and seedling. Transect HB1012, subunit no. 058; UTM 19N-519007-414306. |
