| Field notes | Solitary, understory palm. Stem aerial, 1.1 m high, 1.1 cm thick; internodes 5.5 cm long, > stem diameter, yellow-brown. Leaves 8 per stem; sheath 14 cm long, open, with yellow, 0.5-3 cm long spines; petiole 48 cm long, round in cross section, with yellow, 0.5-2 cm long spines; rachis 45 cm; lamina pinnate, bushy; pinnae in groups of 1-3, basal pinna 29 cm, middle pinna 24.5 cm, apical pinna 27 cm long.
