| Field notes | Cespitose, canopy palm. Stem 20 m high, 14 cm thick; internodes 13 cm long, < stem diameter, grey, fissured, with straight spines to 5 cm long. Leaves 12 per stem; sheaths open; petiole round in cross section, 200 cm long; lamina palmate; segments 17-18 per side. Leaf specimen collected from young sucker at the base of the stem. Transect HB1005, subunit no. 001; UTM 19N-573176-442771. |
